kinkiepink asked: Love the look of Pastelle. I'm a newbie to AE and I am curious as to what filters/fx you typically use to achieve such beauty in your work?
Thx. I use different combinations of filters for each film. I almost always use levels and hue/sat, but everything else is specific to the look I’m trying to achieve. I always have an idea of what I want it to look like, or a feeling I want it to feel like. Then it’s a matter of trial and error until I get it there. On the last couple of films I used image overlays - Find an image with nice light and grain and overlay it over your entire video. Sometimes that produces a unique look that couldn’t be achieved otherwise.
Check it… this is what the window in After Effects looks like when I turn off the video layer in the Pastelle project. That’s all the ‘stuff’ I added to the video to make it look the way it does. Kinda fresh on it’s own.
